Car Donations Benefit Individuals
With Barriers to Employment |
Generous donors make it possible for Goodwill® to provide a variety of local programs and services for individuals with barriers to employment. Horizon Goodwill Industries is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to helping disabled and disadvantaged individuals for over 55 years! Vehicle Donation Process
All vehicle donations to Horizon Goodwill Industries are tax deductible and benefit local programs that provide services to individuals who want to work but have disabilities or other barriers to employment. The entire car donation process breaks down to three easy steps:
1. Contact Us
There are two ways to donate your vehicle to Horizon Goodwill Industries:

2. Schedule the Vehicle Pickup
Once we have your vehicle donation information, one of our towing companies will contact you to schedule a convenient date to pick up your vehicle for free. When the towing company arrives to pick up your donated vehicle, they will also pick up the clean and clear title and keys for that vehicle. In MD, we also need a copy of the Security Interest Filing, if applicable. If you are not going to be home when the vehicle is picked up, you will need to advise the towing company specifically where in the vehicle you will be leaving the title and keys. The towing company will leave you a towing receipt showing that your vehicle was picked up on behalf of the Goodwill® Vehicle Donation Program.
3. Receive Your IRS Tax Deduction Receipt
Once Goodwill® is in possession of your donated vehicle and title, we will mail your IRS tax-deductible donation receipt within 30 days of the sale. Tax Information
When you donate your vehicle to Horizon Goodwill Industries, we will provide you with a donation receipt for your tax purposes. Please note: your tax deduction is equal to the gross proceeds received from the sale of the vehicle or $500, whichever is greater. For vehicles that sell for more than $500, Goodwill® will provide written confirmation of the sale price within 30 days of the sale, giving you the opportunity to deduct up to that amount.
