Donation Information


We’ll gladly accept your donations at any of our stores, the attended donation center in Hagerstown, or by home pick-up (restrictions apply) and give you a receipt for tax purposes. However, please be sure items are in clean, usable condition. To protect your donations, please do not drop off after store hours. For store locations and hours of operation or to schedule a pick-up, please call the location nearest you. 

We will gladly accept clean, usable
  • Gently used clothing and outerwear for all seasons
  • Accessories – jewelry, belts, shoes, boots, pocketbooks, scarves, ties, hats, gloves
  • Linens – blankets, sheets, towels, curtains, drapes, rugs
  • Books – excluding textbooks, encyclopedias, Reader’s Digest condensed books
  • Small appliances – in working condition with all parts
  • Portable TVs, stereos, – in working condition
  • Toys – with all parts and pieces
  • Lamps & furniture – no rust, stains, tears, worn areas, no broken or missing parts, free of pet hair and other debris
  • Mechanical items – bikes, lawnmowers, weed whackers – in working condition
  • Records, tapes, CDs, DVDs
  • Fabrics, sewing supplies & notions
  • Household items
**Goodwill representatives make the final decision on what is acceptable.

We’re sorry, but we cannot accept
  • Computers, printers or parts (keyboards, monitors, cables, etc.)
  • Refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, console tv’s and stereos, gas appliances
  • Tires, batteries, paint, auto parts, solvents, oil, grass clippings
  • Venetian blinds
  • Furniture that is broken, stained, worn, torn, or missing parts
  • Newspapers, magazines
  • Wire hangers
  • Building materials
  • Items that are wet, mildewed, rusty, or damaged
  • Items containing flammable liquids
  • Carpeting
  • Pianos, large organs
  • Pool tables, ping-pong tables
  • Water beds

We are unable to resell certain items and in some cases incur excessive costs to dispose of them (open cans of paint, non-working computers and TV monitors, for example). Also, we have neither the specialized equipment nor the staff expertise required to handle large appliances, building materials, etc.
